I recently launched a coaching program where for anywhere from $5 USD to $75 USD per month you have access to a publicist to help guide you as you do your own marketing and publicity for your work. OK. I admit it still involves me, a publicist. But this is something more affordable for everyone and I love that it’s an option now! Anyway, it’s pretty new, but already have 13 subscribers and we’ve gone over all kinds of stuff from what authors should have on their website, to organic social media growth, to the ideal timeline for promoting your book. We have coaching sessions several times a month, depending on the level at which you join. It’s been going great and helping authors

The One Thing You Need to Know About Social Media

Beverly Bambury/ July 7, 2017/ Facebook, Instagram, Public Relations, Self-Promotion, Social Media, Social Skills, Twitter, Useful Stuff/ 0 comments

I have said this before: “Social media is social.” Despite how often this is said by me and other social media types, people continue to miss the point of networking via social media. In case you missed it, the point is that it’s social. What does “social media is social” mean exactly? Welcome to Adam Shaftoe (slush reader for Daily Science Fiction) and Patrick Icasas (slush reader for Flash Fiction Online). I’ve known Adam for a few years now thanks to the Toronto-area convention scene and I very much admire his reviewing skills. Read his blog, people! I met Patrick only recently via my LAB•B work, and it turned out we had lots of interests in common, and I even helped him get a very well-known comic book writer on his new blog, How to Suck Less. Woo!In any case, Patrick and Adam work hard at what they do, and they have some wisdom to share with you short fiction writers. Read and learn, my friends. Read and learn. –Beverly Short fiction can be an unfair game. Though talent,

Self-Planning for Self-Promotion: A Book Marketing without B.S. Web Workshop

Beverly Bambury/ March 10, 2014/ Announcements, Book Marketing, BookMarketingWithoutBS, Comic Marketing, DIY, Public Relations, Publicity, Queries, Self-Promotion, self-publishing, Social Media, Traditional Media, Useful Stuff/ 0 comments

I am doing an in-depth online workshop on self-promotion for all authors and comic creators. This isn’t just for the self-published, either. If you’re published by any house, big or small, you know how much work falls to you for your own book marketing and publicity. In fact, it’s telling that my clients primarily fall in the small-to-medium publisher category, with the next largest being major publishing houses. (And yes, I have a few self-published/owner-created comics clients, too!) Right now there are two dates: Thursday, March 27th at 7 p.m. Eastern Time and Sunday, April 13th at 1 p.m. Eastern Time (get those tickets here). I will do this again a few times a year as long as there is interest, so if you
